Cool Mom Dude.

There's a post around (do a search ) where you can take the bottom of your air box off, and simply drill two holes in the upperbox with 2 long Plastic Ties to hold the filter in. You'll gain noticable Boost on your Guage and probaly 10 to 15 HP.

Then there is the Boost By-Pass which is needed for your year, thats a Simple .50 cent Vacum Tee. You'll get to use the extra Boost.

After that you can add up to a 2 Lb Pulley (find one used cheap) without having to worry about a new Chip/Program or changing your plugs out ""YET""

You'll end up with a real nice quick truck for under $100.00

Can you post some pics of your mom? :D

JK Grats dude your mom is awesome to buy you a truck like this for your 16th B-day! Treat her well, and your mom too!

I'd suggest you store the truck until at least 25 :) once you get your first speeding tickets or tickets for burning rubber the insurance is gonna go you know where!

Yes, that is an issue.. but uhh, if he got a 25K dollar truck, I dont think insurance will be that big of an issue! Wish I didn't have to pay for my Lightning. Have fun man... be CAREFUL in the rain! :D

Everyone thinks thats a cool mom but I think it is kind of irresponsible. When you are 16 and learning to drive and you aren't the most mature. Having a vehicle with this type of power is just unsafe. I'm sorry to say but unless you've been driving for a while you shouldn't be driving something that don't have the experience to control.

Just my $0.02.

Good luck and be careful,
Pete

Thats not totally true. I respect my truck, and don't abuse its power. I know right from wrong, as my parents have brought me up that way. Ive been riding 3-wheelers, quads, dirtbikes and such for quite some time now, and you learn that stupid things get you hurt...

I said the same thing. Trust me you will street race especially since your 16 lol. and speeding will happen. Just a matter of time, so enjoy it!

A 16 yearold driving around 4500 +lbs with 380hp.... They better be charging him $400 a month... (no offense, man... but that's the very definition of a high risk driver)

No offense taken. That's just a lot of money for the privilege of driving any vehicle around.

I broke an axle on my Firehawk avoiding a suicidal drunk and mine went up to $1400.00 for six months after the insurance company fixed it. I sold it right away and drove an S-10 for a year. I had a speeding ticket on my license that went away then; so, I got another F-body. There was no way I was going to spend over $200.00 a month for Insurance. $400.00 just blows my mind.
