GT40 will be out by next summer, ahead of the next generation L. Hope they go to school on it and share the same parts bin.

The basic layout of the gen 2's should remain in the gen3's. If Ford builds a srt ram fighter we will all lose. Ford will lose their base buyer for the L. Give us a new body, 3 valve heads and Ford will still own the street. I don't care at all if the BIG RAM is faster than my truck. Bang for the buck the L will win hands down. Ford said 2 years ago that it wants the L to be the most powerfull vehicle in Fords linup. It will be the most expensive too. I'm waiting for the 5L mustang anyways.

Ok since nobody thinks the 4 valve heads loose TRQ then look at the GT- 40 and tell me how much power that motor was putting out. 500hp and 500trq! An L with 500hp will have around 700trq which is what we all need to get off the line with a 4500 to 5000lb truck. You guys can hope for you 4 valve heads and wish they come out with them but I just want 3 valve heads and I'll be happier then a pig in chit. I would much rather have ford just improve the flow of the 2 valve PI heads on the L's now. That would be more then enough or us to play with.

Picture this as an L with 4 valve heads. instead of trucks making 380hp and 450trq, it would be more like 450hp and 380trq. Now if I was driving around a stang I would like that last combo allot better but with this truck we need the trq or else its going to be one hell of a boring ride.

With 4valve heads the L would have a higher top end but who cares about that in drag racing when your barely reaching 120 with the fastest trucks.

If ford finds a way to get these pigs down to 4000 pounds gutted then I would be up for some 4 valve heads, MAYBE? But until then I'll put my stock PI heads and block up against any L motor with 4 valve heads on it and a stock L block at the drag strip.
