Help on hooking up autometer boost guage

I finally got my autometer lunar boost guage (have had the trans temp and A/F guages hooked up for a couple of weeks and like them a lot). Can someone help with a couple of questions on the boost guage hook up? Thanks!!

1. Can I 't' into the vac. line under the dash?
2. What type of 't' do I need and where can I buy it?
3. The vac. line that came with the guage is 1/8", and it looks like the stock vac. lines are slightly larger. How do I 't' the 1/8" line into the slightly larger stock lines?
4. Do you know which circuit is controlled by the dash dimmer? I have my other guages hooked up to the light circuit and it's a little too bright at night.

Thanks a lot for the help! Paul

01 Red,

Look and reach under the dash jsut off the right hand side of the steering wheel and you will see/feel a black tube with a 90 degree rubber boot. This is the boost line and where you'll be a tappin.

Head to Autozone, Pep Boys, etc and pick up the following Vacu-tite parts

Part number 47334 (3/16" x 3/16" x 3/16") "T" (2 in the pack)

Part number 47408 (1/8" x 5/32") elbow.

Remove the white inline fitting from the tubing you located previously, install the "T" and elbow(it will be tight), and insert the tube from the gauge.

TEST DRIVE

Here is a pic of the finished product

You can also see where I ran the wires for the other gauges (blue and yellow wires)

You can use the other "T" to make your own boost bypass kit..

As for the dimmer. Run the hot wire for the gauge light over and tap into the light for the ashtray/cupholder.

Bob

Got mine thru JDM. I've ordered guages from Jeg's before too, and they were good
