Ngk Tr5 Gapping?
 

Please could someone tell me the correct gap to set these plugs :)

i gapped mine at .044 with a 4lb lower

What should you gap them at without the pulley?

Thanks, I have a 2lb pulley. Would you suggest the same gap?

I think I did .042 on them with a 2lb pulley

i would gap mine with no pulley at .040

The bigger the pulley the more boost you have the smaller gap should be. Its harder for the spark to jump under more boost. If you are stock then a .044 should work great. It will supply a good hot spark and keep itself clean. Even a 2# would be ok at that gap, when you get to like a 4# I would go with a .040 and with my 6# I gapped them at .038. This also helps fight away detonation some what because the spark is not as hot since its not as big. By making the gap smaller you ensure that your not going to cause a missfire and its easier on the coil pack trying to produce enough energy to make the spark.

I have a 4# lower pulley. Shawn at JDM recomende a 0.40 gap with my tr6's. If you are running 4 pounds or more of boost the tr6's are a better choice because they run a little colder than stock. I was told that the heat range of the tr5's are the same as stock. I hope this helps
