110 hp Mod....won't Void warranty!! ;)

May not be the fastest one out there...but it's all mine. First jet ski (PWC, waverunner, whateva you wanna call it)...and I am enjoying it, despite some problems getting it started when it's in the water.

Lightning makes a beautiful tow vehicle.

Not the fastest one out there? Dude......look again. I have a 2001 XP. Out of the hole, these babys are scary....the 2001s came with 135hp, and I fire that bad boy out of the water like a cruise missile, no waves required! Just get the vertical trim all the way up....stand up, putting your feet near the back...and punch it! There are times when I hear the jet LEAVE the water and free spin....hehe glad it's gonna be 85 today....think Im gonna hit the lake myself...Not to mention it's the coolest looking monster on the water. That reactive seat looks like it was stripped right from a CBR or something. Sea-Doo rocks! Enjoy!

P.S. Get a few big waves....put the vertical trim all the way down to point the nose, go over the first wave slow, as your coming down lean forward and nail it! That sled will be underwater in no time, just HOLD ON! The water will rush over you like cement as the bike submarines. Wont hurt anything at all, only lasts a few seconds but looks soooooo cooool! The girlies will cream. I love life...

What lake do you live on? Looks nice. Michigan has GREAT wakes. The water is never calm.

95 Saleen S351,

Have fun and be safe. I have a Yamaha XL1200 Waverunner. Total blast machine. 140+ HP with a few minor mods, and can haul 3 people around if needed. Even use it to tow for water skiing. :D :D :D

That's bad a$$ 95 Saleen!!!! I had one almost exactly like it. Sea Doo's rock......easily best watercraft out there.

I sold mine when I got home from school to pay off my credit card debts (still didn't cover them, but helped a lot). Anyway I can't wait to get my hands on their new RXX.........

Do you live near Lake St. Clair (What body of water is in the background.......looks kinda small to be St Clair)

Lucky, i have 2 sea doo GS and i know they are the base model but they are alot of fun. Specially while towing them with the lightning. I got some long tern goals for the trailer and hopefully when i upgrade to the XP. I love jet skiing and florida i got best of both worlds, smooth water just go on then intercoastal, waves go out on the ocean right near the inlets and wow, i better stop am in college now and away from home. Sure do miss them.
As for the lightning being a great tow vehicle i would have to agree i beat my friend's f150 with chip intake exhaust and gears on the highway and my friend's celica GTS while towing the jet skis, Yes i know it was stupid but it was fun. Definately not something am going to do again.

I have a 96XP myself. :)

Pic with my OLD tow vehicle:

They can be damn fast too ... watch out for the MOD bug! I've got some mods on mine and just beat a 2001 Kawi 1100 July 4th weekend. He couldn't believe my "old" ski whipped him, and wanted to ride my XP. He did, and couldn't stop talking about how awesome it was. :) Total trick ski ...

As far as getting it started, I always start mine out of the water with a little starter fluid and run it for 20-30 seconds to get her warm, and she starts in the water a LOT better. You might try that. I also visit www.sea-doo.net for the forums, you'll find lots of good info and such there, and they can answer all your questions.

Soap, Fregtit

I don't wanna give away where I live (for obvious reasons) on the internet, but it is a smaller fresh water lake. Nothing like St Claire. But it is big enough to have fun on with the ski.

DamonH - Thanks for the advice...I hear that those 96's can be real quick. I wanna start modding mine to make it faster, but I gotta get it to start in the water better first. I already found that sea doo message board, and I had read that you are not supposed to use starter fluid, so I tried some WD40. I just don't want to have to use it (take out the plugs and stuff) everytime I run it. Since I live on a lake, I wanna leave it in the water..so I don't have to keep trailoring it in and out. But it def starts out of the water much easier for some reason.

Hmmm ... I've never heard you weren't suppose to use starter fluid, maybe it's how you use it tho. I've got the PRoX Flame Arrestors and I just spray it in them, not in the cylinder itself. I've got a 176psi compression head and she's worked like a champ for years now, so I'm gonna keep doing it regardless. ;) The only thing I spray in the cylinders itself is the bombardier lube.

just watch out for running it out of the water for to long... the engine is supposed to have water running through it, its not like a car 20-30 second maybe to long i have to 97 xp's and i run them outta the water for maybe 5 seconds right before we put them in to get them warmed up

WaveBlaster785 Jul 11, 2002 07:56 PM

Truth is that if you want to go fast for long on the water you had better buy a Yamaha, and as far as fast goes, the Yamaha GP 1200R will about rock any other stock ski out there....BUT, if you want to start modding (95 Saleen) you had better have your wrench handy, Sea Doo (bombardier) are very tempermental, in fact many Sea Doo's have problems as far as reliability goes, so if you want to mod, break out the wallet, the wrench, and the YAMAHA....lol, just messing wiht you man, I am an avid yamaha supporter so I had to get that in there....I have about 5 grand in mods in my Blaster, so I know how you feel, its all worth it though!!

WaveBlaster785 Jul 11, 2002 07:58 PM

Oh yeah, if you want it to start easier do away with the choke and get a primer....cheap mod, very useful mod....

One Bad L Jul 11, 2002 08:01 PM

Thats a nice ski. I just bought a 2002 Yamaha GP1200R ski(there open class race ski) and it totally rocks. Ive seen 71 on the speedo bone stock with only like 11 hours on her. of course the stock speedo is a bit optimistic, id say 62-65 actual which is still fast considering your on the water. Definitly a CLOSE second when buying this was the seadoo xp.. Im not impressed with hondas new turbocharged ski, ive already waxed one. it was cool. Have fun and be safe

WaveBlaster785 Jul 11, 2002 08:07 PM

Not much will hang with the 1200R, BUT....My ski may only pull mid 50's on the gun but I'll take anyone on a closed course, its not how fast you go straight in my book, its the course that counts, plus no one will hang with me out of the hole....lol, 300 pound ski 785 Race motor, she might be quick, haha :D
