Intercooler fans?

Gang,

After performing a search with unsuccessful results, I'm curious if anyone has and would be willing to share info regarding installation of two small 'pull' high cfm fans onto the intercooler.

Any tips would be most appreciated.

I'm going to install some soon. I am just tapping into the intercooler pump. Whenever the pump is running the fans are on. You can also run a switch to make them hot anytime. Anyone have any other ideas? Where did you get your fans and how did you install them to the intercooler?

Personally, some will argue about this, but I've looked into doing this only to come away w/out doing it. Why? Our intercoolers are already the most efficient (in terms of heat transfer) of any factory vehicle bar none on the market. If you're not always running them when cruising then you're just taking away proper flow, if you ask me (take a look at the pix and you decide). I feel it's a waste. Now, I could see some benefit for drag trackwhores, as you're able to help cool down the water faster when parked.

"our intercoolers are the most efficient of any factory vehicle bar none."

Quite possibly. Why not improve upon it even further? Cooler is better, right?

"If you're not always running them when cruising then you're just taking away proper flow."

There is some credance to this assertion. However, installing a switch is merely an option. Since some are wiring a switch allowing the intercooler pump to operate when the vehicle is shut off (ie: cooling in the pits), would this not create additional cooling assistance?

JMHO, wire the fans to the intercooler pump so they will run when the truck is operational then add a seperate switch (location based on owner's preference) to allow for pump/fans to operate independantly durring track duty.

No problem my man........and thanks

They are only $65 bones each......not a "get-out-the-government-cheese" mod
