How to gap densos???help!

These don't seem to want to be gapped as easily as your ordinary plug. How do you gap them without snapping them. They don't seem to want to move?!?!?!? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

I believe they tell you not to gap them, preset from the factory. Call Denso and ask them.

Mine came pregapped to .042, too wide for the 5 # pulley setup.

I used one of these tools to set the gap, as the wires are less damaging to the plug electrodes, and the edge tool works great to set the adjustment:

Nope. Not one of the IT-20s I installed had the same gap. They ranged from less than .035 to over .050. Sal, I think, will pregap them before he sends them out if you ask. I'm sure JL would, too . .040 is where I needed them according to Sal. The tool that 2Cool posted is the way to go. It made the job easier and protects the electrode.

Mine came gapped from JL at 40. Do not put any pressure on the electrode, it will snap easier than a toothpic.

You have to gap the Denso's......unless your tuner did already. You also have to use the exact same gapping tool that is pictured above. It is different from a normal tool that pushes on the electrode. That iridium electrode is needle thin.
