Sal--I copied Dons Bolt's diagram to the tee.The charger noise still came in a little early(around 1500 rpm's to 2000) Checked for kinks all fittings, etc. As soon as I reconnected it , it went away. Didn't do it at idle and when the engine was running I would pull our the pink hose to see if the solenoid would drop down(go to constant boost) and it did. So it really only happend at 1500.Just moaned too early.

Smile LOL

Mondo1: You should be ashamed!

Just moaned too early.

In 37 1/2 years of marriage, I've never complained about that.

You guys must be doing something wrong. All the boost solenoid does is give the PCM the ablility to kill boost if it sees a failsafe. Unplugging the solenoid simply stops the PCM from being able to do that. It should not affect any other aspect of the truck, other than stopping the PCM from dumping boost.

When the Gen 2s first came out, many people were making the mistake of disconnecting the pink hose from the bypass itself. This DOES stop the boost dump, because you are killing the vaccum to the bypass. However, it also makes the bypass closed all the time, which will increase blower noise at idle, and also raise the intake charge by heating the air all the time since it can't bypass the blower.

Maybe this is what those who are hearing noise have done? I'd check it out.
Sal i did awhittles version of re re-routing the diaphram vac hose ,this shoiuld not cause heat in the supercharger should it?the pink hose is plugged but not the pink hose off of the selinoid.
here is a pic of the version i am using, hope it's cool andy seems pretty knowlegeable=
another boost bypass option

Excited, it looks like in Andys pic that he simply took the vaccum source line from the solenoid off the bypass, plugged it, and ran a new line right from the by pass to a full time vacuum source. That's perfectly fine.

Shane you need to re-read this, it seems clear enough.

I dont have any unusual blower noise but all I did was dis-connect the thing that WAS plugged in in the pic and what said unplug this from this. I did that. and that's it. Did I do something I shoudln't if that's all I did?

thanks, Shane

Thanks svt kv. I did just what's in the pichture. I dont think I've ever expieranced boost dump. (when it was plugged in)
I just wanted to make sure that by unplugging that I wasn't doing anything to really harm my engine. As long as I am not and all the tuners are saying it's ok I'm fine. Thanks for explaining it to me. Shane
