Question newbie

Hey guys,Hoping you could help a little. I am in the market for a lightning, not sure whether I'l buy new or used. I am in winston-salem, NC. At a dealer near here, there is a 2002 lightning but it looks different than the rest. They are selling it as new, it is yellow, with a black cowled hood. I was wondering if any of you have seen these before. They have 3 of them I believe. I will be going there this weekend to check out their inventory, but I could find no info on these.I found them online at autotrader.com...ciener-woods ford

thanks for the help guys!!!!
Jerry

The yellow one is NOT a Lightning, simple as that.

Question

Those yellow trucks are not Lightnings--unless custom painted??? They are some other model but I can't remember what they are called..............Be sure to get a 'real L--you'll love it!

Y'know what's funny about the "Boss" (ahem!) truck? For the price of one you could get a brand spanking new 02 Lightning, a JDM Stage 1 kit, AND have enough left over for a tonneau and a killer stereo!

Let's see -
1. Fake shaker hood, running boards, and a loud paint job
-or-
2. Low 13's, resale value, and 1000 watt stereo.

Hmmm... decisions, decisions ....

lol

the best way to see the diff is to take each one for a test drive..

roll up to a stop light and when it turns green, STOMP ON IT.

Keep it down untill the tires stop spinning (or untill you salesman returns to his normal color)

count how many seconds it takes in the boss (prob about 1-2)

Do the exact same with the lightning and i gaurentee that you will let up before these monstors stop smokin them.

THAT is the difference between these two, plus the L looks better.

I agree about the L looking better...just like to be informed when I go to these salesmen. Actually, I found a place in KY...not too far from me...has a new 2002 L black/loaded for 30,900. Seems like a good price. Thanks again for all the help.

Have a good one!!!

Here is a thread about the NON-Lightning advertised as a Lightning. Staighten those nitwits(or fraudulent dealer?) out!

http://198.65.157.241/forums/showthr...threadid=79889

Btw, all Ls come "fully loaded". I think the only(at least on my 01?) option is the soft tonneau cover. Everything else is 'standard'.

Jerry,

There are few Lightnings in the classifieds, and good deals too. If you're considering used, check them out.

Don't all Lightnings have

a #3 as the eighth digit in the VIN? To me, that would be the final word as to authenticity. How can a dealership be (1) either so ignorant as to advertisse this as a Lightning, ot (2) so devious as to attempt to defraud potential buyers?

I'd avoid these bozos like the plague.
