So I'm finally going to break down and buy a digital cam. I have a new Sony VAIO PC, that has a memory card slot so I'm leaning towards a Sony cam. What do you guys think of this one:

Or should i go with another brand? Or a different model Sony?

 

I've got a Sony 707, and am very pleased with it. I selected it after fairly extensive research, including several people who are either photo pros or prosumers (the catagory I pretty much fall in).

I've got a Sony portable as well, and the built-in stick port is very nice, but Memory Sticks are fairly expensive, compared to other storage cards. Depending on size, you could buy another card and get a USB reader for that card for the price of a MS. (My VAIO only has one USB port, however...)

 

I own that model and I love it. It's small, yet pretty powerful. I'd have no problem recommending it.

 

I have the Olympus c2100 Ultra zoom
It is about $499 and has the largest optical zoom in that price range.

It takes really good pictures

Good enough that my expenses are being paid to go to FFW this weekend to cover the event...

I just bought the Sony DSC-S75 on sale at Best Buy for 499.99. Its 3.3 megapixel,takes movies, and also uses the memory sticks. It takes great pics and has the Carl Zeiss lense. Look in the photo galleries here under skank dog and you'll see the quality of the pics, and Im not sure really what Im doing yet! LOL! It has more features than Ill ever learn to use.
