One Dim Headlight?!?

I dunno what happened, a few nites ago my right headlight just went dim. its not broken, its just very dim. i did a search and someone suggested cleaning off the grounds. they were behind the headlights (hopefully the correct grounds) bolted to the metal frame next to the intercooler. i unbolted both, cleaned everything, and rebolted them. no luck. i checked the wires, and everything seemed to be in working order (well, no wires aparts, missing wires, elves instead of wires, no funny bussiness). i really hate driving at night, and i am out of ideas. i bought another headlight, haven't installed it yet but i dont think it will work. they don't just go dim do they? anyone have an idea?

They very much so can go dim,, i read somewhere about this possiblity a while ago when i was looking for some aftermarket bulbs. Also a reason they could go dim is a short in the wiring harness. The passenger side lights are routed through the same wiring harness,, Ford is known for bad wiring harnesses which can't take much more then stock wattages. I could explain the dimming light better but its late and i need sheap.

I have this same exact thing occuring on my drivers side headlamp. I can jiggle the wires and they will come back on and dtay for sometime. I thought it was cause someone (prob me) broke the clip off the plug that holds it together.
