Thumbs up L on the track

I'm a member of a local Shelby club in Portland, OR, and because my blown (as in - Vortech'ed) Cobra is at the speedshop right now, I decided to take the L to Portland International Raceway last Friday for a club open track session.

This was a lot of fun! There were mostly Ford/Shelby guys there, but most didn't know what the L is capable of. For those who thought it was simply some gussied-up F-150, they were in for a surprise!

I got some funny looks from drivers and specators, but when they saw how well the truck did, their eyes were opened.

Anyway, it was great fun keeping up with a newbie 911 driver who couldn't get rid of me as well as a Cobra replica with 351W.

I don't have my pulley installed yet, but the JDM power down the straight was more than sufficient to keep up with a lot of vehicles. The electric fan and R water pump worked perfectly and the temp gauge never moved from it's midpoint.

The stock F1's faired well, as did the brakes. The truck never got completely out of shape in the corners even though I occasionally was doing some heavy braking while cornering.

I'm not into drag racing (although I want to try it sometime) but it sure was a blast piloting a 4700lb truck through the corners on a road course. I recommend it.
