Missing and running rough after gaskets
Missing and running rough after gaskets
Just outta the shop a few hunndred miles and pushed it to 130....started missing. back it off and missing at the legal limit.
Rough idle and shudder under light pedal. Flat bed to the dealer. NO engine light. Damn.

Yes I run Sal's chip. Hot street. The previous day I romped on it and it shut down on me. Just like it had before. Threw it in neutral and restarted. Home and reseated the chip. Started up next morning no proble. I wasn't running that speed for an extended period. I just eased it up to 130 and it went bad. My first thought was the electrode had come apart and bent a valve. But it wasn't tapping or making any mechanical noises. Just the miss and ragged shuddering. The dealer looked at it and said it wasn`t electrical due to no codes. They suspect broken rocker. Funny it happened after the head was off.....Or maybe not. 32000 miles...guess I`ll know tommorow. Yes I do remember the timing advance posts about running the drag chip for extended periods ...and the affect. I'll post results of course. My mods are listed....Mild by most standards.

#3 cylinder is down on compression 55% compared to the 175# in the rest. #3 had the electrode gone and some of the porcelain
was gone as well. #7 electrode was burnt off as well. Pulled all the plugs. They all looked fine except the two. Leaned out....There is communication between #3 and #7 cyylinders. Appears to be on the exhaust side as the coolant is stable.
Put in new stock plugs. Guess the surgery starts tomorrow. Something I'm aware of is the passenger side has No
cam position sensor. The drivers side head has the sensor. You can pull the passenger side head without removing the timing
chain for the drivers side. If and I say If the cam timing was advanced by wrong placement of the chain or base timing was off then the computer never sees the problem. I had only driven it without pushing it hard after coming out from having the passenger side head replaced. New intake gaskets as well. The first time I push it hard it gives up the ghost. I do have a problem believing it was a chip or pulley issue. Any thoughts?
