Electric Fan question

Can an electric fan be used with a stock water pump and thermostat? Can you still tow a 20 ft. bassboat without overheating on a 100 Degree day? For those that put one on, would you do it again? I guess what I am asking, Is there any disadvantages having an electric fan over the stock belt driven clutch fan? Thanks for taking the time to read this and answer my questions! Skip

You can use the stock pump and stat. If you see 100 deg temps a cooler stat would be a smart addition. I don't tow with mine, but I would do it again.

i have two hayden 14 inch fans with a 170 stat, and stock water pump, havent had any 100 degree days here, yet, but it has seen some mid 80's with no problem, needle just gets over the water temp symbol on the stock guage and fans turn on, i figure the fans are doing their job if they turn back off..
