New Best Time

Went to the track today, pretty disappointing day all in all..I ran a new best of 13.308 @ 103.07 and a 2.041 60 ft. From there it was all downhill..

I couldn't hook up and ran a 13.46,13.56,13.70,13.90'and a 14.1 the rest of the day..
I think I will have to adjust my truck-tracks or something.....60 ft times were 2.2-2.5's

I redlighted in the first round of eliminations with a .317 reaction time.. I guess I don't understand bracket racing.. I had a .4xx and a .2xx reaction during the test and tune period and didn't redlight...
Can someone explain how the tree works in bracket racing.. I guess it was a .5 tree and if you are quicker than that you redlight????

guess it's not all that bad I just was expecting better.....JR

BTW, I had a good time and met some cool folks.....that's the important part......was just venting.....or somethin'

Good times for a mostly stock '00. As for the tree... yep, its a .500 reaction time, anything faster is a redlight. Head on over to here for some practice:

JR,

Hoosier drag slicks and 16" wheels will put you into the 12's, or so damn close you won't believe it.

Your next mod? Should be!

Hey JR, what tires are you using on the rear? If a F1, no amount of adjusting your bars will help your 60ft times. The track has to be great to hook on f1's.

Its a common misconception that traction bars create more traction, when they actually just control the traction. If your tires are spinning, throwing on a set of bars will not automatically give you traction. If your hooking and you put bars on, your 60's will get better from controling the springs resistance.

If you knew this already, please disregaurd

Jon, a little tip for using the Truck-Traks with F-1's. Reduce the clearance to 3/4-1" at the track. This will not "hit" the tire as hard. The more aggressive the tire, the more clearance you can run.

If the clearance is too great, the snubber will bounce off the spring, and unload the tire. When the tire unloads, it begins to spin. What you will feel is the initial launch, or lifting of the front end. At this point, the tire is getting traction, then a moment later, it spins.

Try launching the truck from idle, or just above. Drive into the throttle, don't mash it. This will allow the Truck-Traks to hit the springs more gently, lifting the front end, and transferring weight onto the rear wheels.
