Helmets

OK, not too lightning related but...
Where can I get a good price on a helmet? It doesn't have to be great, just something to pass tech!
Thanks

The best helmet for the money that I could find was at Jegs. I got a G-Force open face for $149. I like it and it's Snell SA2000 approved, just what's needed to pass tech inspections.

Hey Whipster
I have a extra helmet if you want. $50 bucks and it is yours. I only used it last season, it is a HJC open face. I got myself a new fancy helmet, so I'll lrt you try it if you like it is yours.

just remember this. Most of the HJC helmets are NOT approved for auto racing. Here it lists the helmets that are approved for what:

No Flame Here

But come on guys.We spend Thousands to go faster and when it comes to safety equipment (for your head on less) you get CHEAP.Give me a break.
Most of us do not have roll cages or even a 5 point harness belt system and you want a $50 dollar helmet.I have a simpson helmet and a bell helmet.Very reputable RACING helmet companies.
I am not saying you have to spend $600 but do not get the cheapest either.
Remember you will be wearing this while racing at 100 M.P.H.
A helmet should be purchased no different then anything else for the L.Research and recommendations.
Sorry to get all riled up about this but been around racing all my life and safety equipment should not be a second thought.
