Question CA Emissions Testing

Should we leave our mods on i.e. chip, TB, 90MM, Cold Air Box on for California emissions testing? Anybody pass with them in place? Thanks for your comments..

If the air box doesn't have a CARB sticker, then I would take it off.

Talk to your tuner about the chip, there have been several to claim that some of their programs actually run cleaner than stock.

The technician is required to do a thorough visual inspection - anything (and I mean anything) that he/she feels is not stock must have CARB paperwork with it - thus if you have one of the fancy polished T/Bs be prepared for trouble - if the airbox is not standard be prepared for trouble - bottomline, I'd put it all back to stock to be sure you pass - sorry to be so negative but I've spoken to several smog center tech's and all say the same thing - (most think you'd get away with the chip since they don't pull the panel to look)

what Jim44 says is basically true. If you find a test only station that is pretty lame, they may test it as it is, and it may pass. I'd probably pull the chip anyway.

If the test only station calls you on it, you will have to go to a referee station, after turning it all back to stock.
