Who's with me?
I have always been a Ford guy and probably always will be, but I still don't agree with everything they do.
I think that Ford should be making some naturally aspirated horsepower engines instead of just throwing a blower on everything. It surely limits the options for increasing the horsepower more. The best example is the new Cobra. Imagine if they built the new Cobra with 390 N/A HP. Then you could slap a Paxton or something on there and really be making some power. The Cobra R is a good example, but they were only produced on a very small scale. Anybody else feel this way? |
YES !
how about a blown 450 ? |
Then you can enjoy paying Z06 prices for your next Ford....
I think they are doing a fine job. I dont see anyone having trouble modding the 5.4 SC engines to increase power... Jeff |
im going to have to side with trueblue on this one dude, these supercharged ford motors seem fine being modded, and are making some good power :)

I agree with you to a point. . .
Ford has always released their vehicles (the new L & Cobra aside) a little conservative on the HP numbers, but what they are giving you is basically a blank canvas. If you want more power or handling or braking. . .that's the job of the aftermarket/tuners. As long as their engines/transmissions/suspensions have the ability to be tuned and increased to a performance level that better pleases the enthusiasts, then I'm happy. It's when the systems suck & aren't tunable that I get miffed. Later, |
I agree with both parties on this one. I have nothing against Ford putting blowers on cars, it's more than welcome to me. However, as a Ford "enthusiast", I feel somewhat let down by the fact that the Chebby boys get 320hp from a pushrod V-8 and the Mustang guys only get 260hp. I do realize that it's 260hp from 4.6 vs a 5.7, but still, that's not the car buyers decision.
