AutoMeter Boost gauge bad? Won't zero

From day one it has never stopped at zero when the truck was turned off. I didn't know any better intill Bad as L was driving my truck and pointed it out to me. Is my gauge bad? Is there away to zero them? Can anyone give old HJ a hand with this?

Thanks Herb

Remember this is a vacuum gauge. Take a good vacuum gauge and hook up to your vacuum. Say at idle it reads 17 inches of vacuum. There should be a screw on the back of your "boost" guage. Turn it until it reads 17 below zero. This should set your gauge for the most accurate reading when in boost.

Any garage is going to have a vacuum gauge.

I have this problem in reverse.
The factory gauge, in my 01’, reads about 1/8’” below the black box when the key is off and my ford racing gauge reads exactly zero.
I tried to get it warranted and the dealer is skeptical that they are all the way.
During normal driving the needle is usually below the bottom line, I don’t remember my 00’ being that far off.

BAD GUAGE

It could be a bad guage. I had a Auto Meter Phantom do the same thing. I was sucking so much vacuum under sudden deceleration during countless testing blasts down the 1320, that I some how messed up the calibration on it. ;)

this guage DOES NOT offer a calibration screw.

To adjust an Autometer gauge:
Disconnect it and stick your finger in the hole that is in the back.

Press it until the gauge reads and maintains zero. That's all there is to adjusting them.
