Let Down by the Dealer.......
After a few days of ownership of this wonderful truck.I was
washing it and found what looked like a chip.It was on the edge
of the hood down by the grill.I took it back to the dealership,They
took some pics and sent them to ford.About a day or so they called and said they got aproval to have it fixed. So I took the hood to the best body shop in town and left the hood for paint.
The next day the shop called and said we need to see the rest of the truck.Up the truck went. When I got there they said you need to see this.I walked up to the hood and he said this hood has been painted since it left ford. And to make it worse it's not
the right color black........! I said something like *&^%$#*.The
other shop used true black PPG 9300.And the black ford uses is not a true black.
So we went out to the L and found on one of the fenders on the
inside the paint was peeling on there hard line.So what had happened was the paint did not match so they blended the fenders.Needless to say the hood and fenders needed to be striped and redone. So they will need to remove the nose clip to do the job right. I called another ford dealership and had them
run the vin#.
I found out by them the hood was painted. They told me the date of repair.Soooooo I caled the dealer I bought it from and asked if
the truck had been painted. The service manager said they took it to a body shop and had the hood buffed. And then I said how come it shows that the hood was repainted after it came to this
dealership? Of course then I had to talk to the General manger.
Well to make a longer story shorter. The work has been done.
Im a little P.Oed I bought this truck and was not told it had been
painted. And then had to have it striped and redone. The truck is
new (only 600 miles) And 1/3 of the truck has been repainted.
I feel like I was pooked by the big one. What do I do? The truck
looks nice but just not the same.

I would have a very hard time accepting that truck. Not sure about the legalities but I would want a new truck.
I remember reading an article a couple years ago about a guy who bought a new BMW that had been repainted. He did not know it had been. Paint started to come off. He found out the history, sued and won several hundred thousand $$.
