Just installed Jay's Truck Traks
by myself, no jack or jack stands--just slid in front of or behind the rear springs and bolted them on. Took about 30 mins. Drove a test run witn the F1s on--laid some stripes. After getting back, I checked the clearance on the rt. one and the exhaust tip clamp--they had just touched so I loosened up the 4 bolts and tapped the Trak back about 1/2"-retorqued. Also moved the lft. one back a tad too. The real test will be Fri. pm at the 1/4 mile with my ET Streets on. Quality pieces, shipped quickly--no hassles--may(?) bring me my first 12 and then you guys won't have to read my soap operas anymore. HEHEHE

Dan, glad you like them, and the service. What kind of clearance do you have between the snubber and the spring?
Lowered trucks can have as much as 2 1/2" , and that might be a little much. I checked mine tonight, and they have settled in at about 1 1/2". Any less, and you will affect the ride. For the lowered trucks, I am working on a spacer system to help space the snubber upward. Oh yeah, I'm going to have my truck on Danny Swanson's Dyno on Friday morning. I am going to take my video camera and try to film the movement between snubber and spring. I'll have to have it converted to electronic format, as I have the old tape kind of video. |
Jay, if it'll help any, you can come pick up my Digital Video Camera...you'll still need to have it convered and compressed to play on the computer/internet, but it might make things easier..

I have about 2 1/2" between the snubber and spring? My L is not lowered, if anything, it's higher, i.e. no spare tire, hitch, or jack. I didn't do a full WOT launch yet, just brake/torqued it and mashed the throttle--just ended up spinning the F1s. Hopefully, Fri. nite at the track will allow the T/Ts to 'shine' along with my 'purty' truck!
Thanks, Dan |
Dan, I'll call you . You need to reduce the clearance to 1 1/2" or less. Easily done, and I'm designing a spacer kit now. It'll be a couple of days before I'm done.
