Hey glc,
Thanks for quick reply. Don't think I can record noise. Low level of sound compared to the engine and drive train. It's kind of clicking sound speeds up and down with speed of the engine.
Truck has 90 K miles and SC has never had any kind of service on it. My dealer couldn't find anything on it., wants me to bring it in. I think I will, very had to say without hearing
it. I understand that just thought it might be a common problem.
Thank you again,
the falcon

First thing I'd do, is change the supercharger oil. The oil is XL-4 and it takes roughly 2 bottles.

I would take it out and closely inspect it to see if there metal shavings or abnormalities.

How do you know for sure it's coming from the supercharger?

An automotive stethoscope or a long screwdriver can be useful for chasing noises. What you describe can be a couple of items. One, when the SC belt gets worn and glazed it can click, the other is the rear bearings on the SC can get dry and also make a click sound. If it is coming from the SC, and it hasn't been serviced, now would be a great time to remove it and change that nasty oil, grease the rear bearings, and clean the intercooler, which is probably caked with gunk. IIRC, there is a how to on the rear bearing service. If you are not mechanically inclined, these jobs are best left to those who are. Ford is not the place to trust on these items, they know very little about these trucks and will gladly empty your pocketbook and leave you with a messed up truck, enough said.

One other thought, if it is a clicking type of sound, be sure to check all your spark plugs, could have a loose one ready to pop.

Does the sound go up with revs or does it do it at idle only - check a pulley , Pull your belt off and start wiggling
