Shift Kit....
Whats the best shift kit of valve mod to go with? I currently have a JL Diablo Sport chip, JL pulley, 90MM conversion, JL Ram Air. I want the 1 to 2 shifts to be able to break the tires loose!
I got Sals Valve body mod that Factoy_tech makes for him. And gotta say its awesome love the shifts really whips your neck back. The install is easy to no busting open the stock vavle body it comes with a new valve bodie that you just pop in place of the stock one. You can contact Sal of PSP at www.powersurgeperformance.net

I have had both the Factory Tech shift kit and the JDM line mod valve. I am sticking with the JDM line mod valve. Both kits are easy to install. JDM's line mod barks the tires on the 1-2 shift. I could never get the factory tech shift kit to do that. When I went looking for a shift kit I want my tires to bark. The JDM line mod valve does that and thats why I am sticking with it. The JDM line mod valve also has very smooth shifts and they are nice and soft when driving around town. When you get on it, they are quick and firm.

John, something is wrong with your truck if you can't bark the tires between the 1-2 shift with the Factory Tech kit. Mine will @ half throttle. Maybe its how our shifts are set up in our chips.

I have the LEVEL 10 shift kit, and LOVE IT! It does take a litlle longer to install that other brands, but really "barks" the 1-2 shift in a BIG way
The LEVEL 10 shift kit also includes the Line-Mod valve as sold by JDM, whick is Basically the Same exact piece, just not sold with the springs, and manufactured by some one else. Hope this helps

I just got the JDM valve installed and it DOES NOT chirp the tires on the 1-2 shift, but I do NOT have a chip either. It did makes the shifts much quicker and a bit firmer. I'd actually like a tire chirping shift, but I don't wanna ***** up my warranty. Maybe someday, in another 4 years...

So...if you already went internal to install a Line-mod valve, that may be reason enough for your dealer to pull your warranty. IMO
Jerry,
Nothing changed inbetween removing the Factory Tech shift kit and installing the line mod valve. With the JDM line mod valve I now bark the tires very easily. I don't know how you can say somthing is wrong with my truck? A friend of mine also changed from the Factory Tech setup to the JDM line mod valve with the same results.

SHIFT KIT FIRMNESS
There are a few that believe that the level 10, or any other Mechanical shift-kit are too firm, that is not the case. Remember...you can also improve shift firmness with your chip. I personally have prefer mechanical over electronic for something like this.
