12's on 22's
Well a few weeks ago I posted about wanting to be the first one to run in the 12's with 22's. I wasn't sure if I could do it but I wanted to be the first. This weekend was my first trip to the track since I got my 22's. I just bought a pair of 17x11 weels and my BFG radial drags in 315/35/17 series. I goofed and the bolt patern that I ordered was wrong, I thought that we had 5 on 5 but we dont, so I didn't get a chance to try out the Drag Radial's but I think they would have done fine. So I had to run my 22's, I wanted to see how I would do with them anyway so it all worked out ok, except that I now have just under a grand tied up in a real nice set of rims and tires all mounted thet don't fit my truck. Well I will get back to the point of this post now. I ran two runs in the twelves today on my 22's they were:
12.914 at 108.39 mph with a 60' time of 2.033 second run was a 12.836 at 108.25 with a 60' time of 1.970 I was pretty happy to get under a 2.0 60' time with tires that have almost no sidewall at all. |

That's kicka$$, bud. Just curious, what's the overall height on those 22's? |
hdmlnium boldly goes where no one has gone before, these are voyages of the star ship mlnium. To seek out new tires and faster time slips.
Way to go Bill Don |
Madhouse,
The overall height is 28.73" just a few hairs taller that the stock F1's just with a lot less sidewall, They are 285/30/22's. And thanks I was very happy to still be in the 12's with them. Don, Thanks man, and welcome to the 12's. I talked to stan about an hour ago and I have his panhard bar, slidders, and rotors for front and back coming. More thing's to put on MLNIUM:D Bill |
Bill,
Glad you are still in the 12s and congrads again to Don C for his first trip to the 12s. I will be with you in a few short weeks. Not to go off subject, But I think it is top knotch that Jim(JDM) made the 12.12 pass Saturday. I hope he gets his '01 to the 11s soon, so I won't have to keep putting fires out over at NLOC. All of you at NLOC know what I am talking about. |

Thanks guys, and Don, the pic of you in your truck in the burn out box is sweet. I'm glad you got it, The floppy was the way to go, when will I learn? lol

Thanks Bill and ZorPrime
All I have to do now is learn to do a real burnout, I need a lesson. I love the 12.82 dial in on the windshied. |
Hey hdmlnium-
Congrats on the times! Also, do you happen to know the weight of each of your wheel/tire combinations? This past weekend we weighed one of Silver-Bolt's stock wheels & tires and it came out at exactly 60 lbs. Thanks! ~rick |
SpoonDog_SVT,
I weighed the 20's when I had them and they were 75lbs a piece, rim and tire. I haven't weighed the 22's yet but I would guess them to be about 80lbs a piece or so. I will have the wheels off to do some cleaning from the weekend so if I remember I will weigh one of them and let you know. Bill |
