Ruh-Roh? oil...

Romped on her hard as usual, noticed a misfire of a cyl. Looked in my mirror and I have a haze behind me, couldn't make out the color through tinted windows and mirrors. looked in the intake tube and seen a heavy coating of oil on the TB blades.

Am I over thinking this when I fear a rebuild, or is this a common PCV trick and will require cleaning the IC and turkey pot again? It threw #300 random misfire.

Are you running a oil separator for the pcv system? On my nissan sentra with the 2.5 L, when I started to notice oil on my plugs and misfires I had to replace my head gasket and the valve stem seals. Just a thought.

Running OEM PCV system, hadn't had an issue with oil since it was all fresh... until yesterday when that #1 plug apparently said enough is enough... I hope I got lucky for once.

I would drain and refill your oil. When my head gasket went the coolant started filling up in the crank case. When you checked with the dipstick it looked normal cause oil sits on top of water. So when I drained my oil at first nothing but coolant started coming out then oil. I only say that it might be your head gasket cause the plugs look exactly like mine did and you are running boost right? So all that added pressure on a stock head gasket might be to much for it. How does the rest of the plugs look? Are you having to add coolant every now and then?

I'll have to check compression on a few more cylinders and probably squirt a little oil out of the pan to see what it looks like.

the other 3 plugs look pretty good this time around, not wet/fuelly like they usually do. I still have to check bank 2 and cyl 1. bank 1 was 155-160.

I used Cometic MLS, I hope they hold up pretty well, dad use to rave about that brand.

Yes on adding coolant, but some is prob being lost @ radiator and heater core, I can smell coolant in cab @ startup and outside when hot.

10psi
