What's up with closing all the good threads????
Sometimes i can't believe that the moderator dude closes some threads that are legitimate threads that people need to read and be aware of. I mean, seriously, who cares if the thread should be in the "Vendor Forum" or if t should be "in this forum." If it's something pertaining to lightnings and the thread has a point to it, i believe it should be left up so others can read about what that person just posted. Am i the only one that thinks this????????? Oh, and i'm posting this thread because i just read the thread about "PSP's Customer Service." Honestly, if anyone complains about anything, or has any reason to complain about any product or any service that they aren't happy with, then there's somethin wrong. After hearing this i don't think im going to be asking about an intake filter for my '01.

I have to agree with you 100%. This board is out of control. The B.S. is so deep that you need full scuba suit and tank to survive.
Honestly, I have just about had it with f150online. There are lots good people here, but trying to get information about Lightning modifications is extremely frustrating. Many vendors do not tell the truth and many owners don't either. Just start asking the hard questions (like, what is this mod going to break) and you will see what I mean. |
Locking thread in 3....2.....1..... :D
|
The thread was closed because it wasnt a question or comment directed at the readers here. It was a rambling page long complaint directed to Sal - that should have been taken off- line. The same information posted in an different format would have been fine.
I closed the thread to try to keep the BS level down. If I do nothing people complain, if I close a thread people complain. Doug |
Doug,
The PSP Service thread itself did not concern me. You have to use your judgment on that kind of stuff. However, IMO, you should not have closed the 90 mm MAF thread just because of Lisa's post. You should have edited or deleted the post. The thread itself was valid and useful. |
I feel honored! :D I was on LS1.com for over a year, before I ever had a thread locked....I've been here for 2 days and I'm already making trouble with my questions! ;) :D.
I certainly have an opinion on this, but I'm too new over here.... so I'm gonna stay outta this one. |
What this board needs to do is create a seperate Lightning subforum w/ it's OWN forums to deal w/. I've said it time and time again, but it is probably not going to happen.
One forum for Lightnings when it's your LARGEST forum on this whole BBS by over 1/2 is ridiculous. That's why it is so out of control. People post anything and everything in here simply because there isn't any other places to do it for a congregation of Lightning owners. I'm not going to Engines to ask "?'s" about my motor, I'm just not, and nearly 99% of the rest of us aren't. I'm also not going to the Lounge to post my most recent date in my Lightning...I'll post it here! But give us a Lightning subforum w/ a "Lounge" and you'll see magic work. Why not try it? It's worth a try and you'll see the differences all for the best. You also can change it back in 1 month (or even less) if it doesn't work, and you can merge all the posts back into 1 single forum w/ this new BBS system. Sounds easy doesn't it! As I've said before, the Lightning may be an F150 in looks, but it's soul is it's own! BfB |

Read the closed thread ..... "Ebbsnflows the question is a good one you may need to ask it again.... " Ebbsnflows or anyone else is free to post the same question again. The ONLY time I edit a post is to help with something ( posting pictures) or to remove profanity or other unacceptable content. Doug |
BfB - your right. None of us here are going to post in the engine, or suspension or etc. forums. Where gonna post in the lightning forum b/c this is where the best info is for our trucks. We know our trucks better then most 4x4 or 4x2 owners do.
And we could post in the general discusions forum, but I'd venture to say that most of us feel a 'kinship' (sp?) together and would rather post among Lightning Brethren. So how about it Steve or Doug, can we at least have a Lightning Lounge? |
Subforums are easy to create with this forum software, but they add a tremendous amount of overhead to the database server.
When I get things worked out with the server's stability (it is still complaining about the migration) then I will do some more research into this. Keep in mind that even with subforums, the same rules will apply. Adding a "lounge" would not excuse immature behavior, permit vendors to run amuck and would not result in any less enforcement of the basic terms of use here which Doug does a FANTASTIC job of. (sorry about the poor grammar) Steve |
Doug,
I noticed that on one of my posts you edited poppyc*** and I felt a little bad. I didn't know that the whole word was bad, but I guess that little part was a no no. Sorry for splashing profanity all over your forum. let me try again: ******* $heet BEEYOTCH!! Better?:D |

Thanks for at least looking into this Steve, and Doug. I appreciate it! Take care, BfB |
Steve - that would perfectly fine, the benefit of a lounge though is it will decrease the amount of clutter in the lightning forum, which would be great. For example I think the whippersnapper thread is hilarious, but for some looking for mod information it would be a pain in the booty. Seperating that stuff would do wonders.
And you and Doug are doing a great job at keepin the wars down lately. |

Doug Yes, you told Ebbsnflows he could repost, but did he? When you closed the thread, you killed the discussion. That was "throwing out the baby with the bath water." I am not complaining about censorship. F150online is a private board, and you have to do what you can, to keep the community under control. I am just suggesting a more surgical application of the censorship. I have to agree that this is a wonderful resource site, and that Steve and the moderators are doing a very good job of keeping it healthy. |
Thulsadoom
The profanity is edited by the software automatically. Baddog Rather than continuing to complain about the absence of that subject why don’t you repost it for him ? I am EXTREMELY careful in editing posts since if I edit a post the changes I make might be atributed to the original poster. Therefore I don’t edit posts to avoid that whole problem. Doug |
