Cold air intake help

I bought a 2001 lightning a while ago and im trying to get a few things on it squared away. The entire intake system is in bad shape, im not entirely sure whats going on with it to be honest. It go's from an accufab throttle body to a JLP thundertube then to a 90 mm MAF. the problem is that it looks as if the previous owner Jimmy rigged the MAF end of the thundertube to actually fit. I almost want to get rid of the entire system as is and replace it with something that isnt such an eye sore. Cant anyone recommended what direction i should take with this? here are some pictures to better illustrate whats going on..

Bottom of thundertube..

OOOOOoooooooowwwwwww, that's ugly, all right. The JLP filter box looks OK, but where's the filter? Get a C&L intake tube and you should be OK, but where's the 3 vacuum lines that should be attached under the intake tube? What a mess.

I was cleaning the filter at the time and there are only two lines that lead to the tube I believe although they don't serve any purpose since the oil that seeps From the TB pools Past the holes ! I need to put some crank case breathers on my covers though because it's a substantial amount puddling around the MAF that I think is also screwing up a/f ratio. Thanks for the advice If I can keep the JLP box then all the better.

I had one of them thunder-tubes and had problems with it staying connected to the TB.
Got rid of it and put the C&L in there. Works a lot better.
