6800 miles and the only problem I've had is the front end clunk. Like someone else said, Lots of smiles... Go for it!

Thanks for your advice, but it came a little too late, since it's already been decided that an L isn't in my near future.

I don't know if they are chrome or polished, but at the local dealer, there are several L's with polished/chrome 01 wheels. If this isn't a factory option, my mistake, but Chino Hills Ford has L's with the standard silver/grey finish wheels and L's with polished/chrome wheels.

Wish My Dealer Had Chrome Rims

Never heard chrome or polished rims were an option!! Looks like your dealer's modding trucks when they hit the lot. I'd check under the hood and make sure the S/C is still there!! Just messing with you!! ANyway, if they are offering the choice of rims, it's about time!! I'm looking to get a set of chromed rims and I'm looking to pay a fortune to do it. Best deal so far for a set (no trade in or getting my stocks done) is $1,100! Got a lot of wheeling and dealing with the wife to do!!

tliss,

Not sure how much extra the chrome wheels cost. I will stop by after the gym today and ask. I do remember seeing a white 01 L, chrome 01 wheels, matching hard lid w/ a spoiler on the lot for about 34k and change. The silver L I was looking at had the standard wheels and came to about 32k and change.

I'll ask specifically about the chrome wheels and how much extra they add to the L.

Well, you have to figure base price on the 2001 is $32,460, If they are in the $34K + category for the extras, they are probably at least $300 a pop. The hard tonneau is roughly $900 (depending on the brand and style). Looks like the same. If you can find out where they got them. The factory is not making chrome wheels (that I know of), so they are getting them aftermarket. I need to find a few place so I can compare.

tliss,

I remembered I had a business card lying around so I don't have to drop by. Everyone was right, chrome wheels were not a factory option.

According to the salesman I talked to, the wheel were sent out to an independent chromer and then sent back. The wheels cost an extra $1600. Probably can be bargained down, but that is how much they are as it stands. Call 1-800-551-9331 for Chino Hills Ford if you are interested.
