SWEET!!!

355.8 / 85 x 100 = 419 (rounded) horsepower at the crank!!! (this of course is assuming only a 15% driveline loss)

OMG, you're motor is EVIL! This is stock right?

How many miles?

BFB,
I only changed the plugs and motor oil. I had a miss in the engine at 85 miles. I put in NGK's and finished the break-in. Changed the oil and ran it at the track. 13.53@103 1200 on odo.

Dyno'd the truck at 2300 still stock. Don't know if you consider changing plugs a mod, it didn't add any hp. The truck is stock. Ran it on Sunoco 94 pump gas. https://www.f150online.com/f150board/smile.gif That's all i did.

I'm going to start my mods here soon. I'll dyno them as I go.

The truck is evil!! Everytime i get in it, it tells me to race! https://www.f150online.com/f150board/biggrin.gif I Should have named it christine.

Thats what I said earlier. It calculates out to 418. something I posted it waaaay back but that is awesome for a stock truck!

Your numbers are darn near identical to mine.
Pretty cool having a stock motor that cranks out 355+!

After a few mods I'm up to 385 with the engine really hot. After the lower pulley, new chip program and electric fan I'll dyno again. 400+ horsepower is not far away.

CornerCarver Jun 13, 2001 09:33 AM

I believe the accepted line loss is 11% which yileds 399.77hp. Ok, ok, 400 hp! Congrats.

BTW, isn't it running a tad "lean" for stock? I thought these things ran pig-rich when stock? JDM states their chip runs an 11.5 A/F ratio. That would "richen" yours up!?!

I guess my truck must be a pig.
At 341 with chip and filter, it would factor out to around 365.95 horespower at the crank assuming a 15% drive line loss and 30 rwhp from the chip and filter.
If the chip and filter gave me more, then my truck sucks even more than that.

Funny how when I posted that she pulled 378 everyone cried bull**** just because it was doen on a Mustang dyno, and then when the graph from a Dynojet showed 341, no one complained.

Snake -

It's a guy thing.

The best way to dyno the truck is high B.P.; Low humidity and cool temps. Let the car cool completely down; bring it up to 140 degrees and roll the drum.

In the future, I'm going to be more consistent with the variables.

seattlesnake Jun 13, 2001 04:40 PM

NEEDFOURSPEED,
I think youre right.
The day I pulled 378 was cool and the air was dense.
Even the guys at Blood mention how perfect the conditions were.
The day at the dynojet was different.
It was hot humid and the engines intake was really hot to the touch.

I had a gut feeling that it would be weak before we even did the pulss.

NeedFourSpeed,
I'm following in you foot steps! Can't say why a few of us are this high. I have an early build. I took the boot off and found oil in-front of the throttle body! Have you checked yours yet?

CornerCarver,
The 01's are a little leaner! By the look of my exhaust tips you wouldn't think so! https://www.f150online.com/f150board/smile.gif

Thor-

Mine is clean but I put on a crankcase breather at 900 miles. Chip has been calibrated for the breather so it doesn't show a lean condition.
