Anybody using PSP's $149 Hydrosystem Shift Kit?
What are the benefits? Is this just a preventative tool to keep the tranny's operating temperature down, or is there a difference in shifting?

I believe the one your talking about is the Level 10 kit and not the Factory Tech one he also sells. I have the Level 10 kit in my '99 and shifts are definately more firm and faster than stock. As I've been told the quicker shifts help keep the trany temp down
because its not slipping into gear as much any more. Hope this helps, Jason |
So what's the diff between the L10 vs. the FT one?
|
The difference is that with the Level 10 shift-kit, you will need to open up your original Valve body and install the upgraded springs and proper Line pressure Modulator valve.
With the FT one, you would recieve a complete valve body and all the needed modifications already installed, and all that is required for install is a simple swap-over from the stock piece. I would also highy recommend a 4x4 TRANS PAN that will provide you with a drain plug. Or a Performance AUTOMATIC pan like I have that will increase you fluid capacity by an additional 4-5 quarts over stock. hope this helps https://www.f150online.com/f150board/smile.gif ------------------ Spiro- 12.373 @ 110.15 Best 60' 1.72 @ 4700 w/out the Go-Go juice 11.94 @ 115.31 with 100 shot Go-Go juice @ 4700 lbs. 11.40 @ 113 with 150 shot(on the brakes)NOT BACKED UP! :D 4700 lbs. -Stock Meter -Stock TB -Stock Heads -Stock Manifolds -Stock motor -Stock Torque Convertor Empty Pockets Racing DE-NJ Sponsored by POWER SURGE PERFORMANCE Sales@POWERSURGEPERFORMANCE.NET |
Hey, there's Spiro! Are you guys packaging that trans pan with the shift kit? Which is the kit that won't kick you in the azz as hard as the other? I'd like to clean up the sloppy shifts of the stock trans, but not bang the gears like a hammer...

Madhouse,
The FT is the kit you want then. The FT is much more civilized than the Level 10, but still has nice crisp firm shift. |
Sweet, thanks LB! That's what Chuck's running, right?
