Rear shackles

Have a 01 L and would like to level out the the rear with the front. I was told the Bell Tech 2 inch shackles in the rear will do the trick and still be able to run the stock shocks. I like the way the truck rides now, any feed back on the effects on the overall ride with the drop.

Thanks,
Rick

All thanks for the feedback. Hope to complete the drop this weekend.

RJG, i have not noticed a difference on my 00 with the bell tech on the street or freeway.

RJG - I've asked the same question many times, and always got the same answer. With a 2" drop in the rear you can keep stock shocks. 3"+ drop you will need to replace the shocks.

Guys how about if you use coils, could you drop the front end 1" w/out having to change the shocks?

RJG:
Installed a set of Eibach springs and a pair of shackles. Brought the truck down ~ 1 1/2" in front and 1 3/4" in rear. After realignment, truck rode as well as stock, but handled slightly more neutral, with no noticeable bump steer. Have about 10K miles on it with no problems. Nice compromise between stock height and radical lowering for a daily driver!
