Huh. I was told R/T stood for Rapid Transport, but Road and Track sounds more plausible now that you think about it.

Holeshot, I heard about that as well, a friend of mine had a Dakota and was considering it. He said that it included a new cam, computer, exhaust and some other mods. He got rid of the truck before he had a chance to do it though.

Well by 2003 the dakota's and Ram's are going to have a 300+ horse power hemi in them huh!?!?!? Its just to bad that the new L's are supposed to have well over 400+ Horsepower and over 500+ foot pounds of torque. I think by then we'll have to start racing the vipers and Zo6's with are little chips and filter's. HAHAHAHAH MOPAR! what a joke!

The only joke was you not showing up for Byron. I would have trashed you N/A with my old, antiquated 360. Two other RTs there would have worn you out as well. Shesh, your own L owners really dogged you for that. Isn't that why you never go on svt performance anymore?

Do be fooled by the R/T designation.
It is Chryslers' "sport" designation. A Neon R/T is just like putting GT on an Escort. Ford likes using GT (Grand Touring), while GM is into SS (Super Sport) or RS (Rally Sport).

Hope this clears up any confusion.

that 300hp package was available for 5.9 motors. it consisted of a computer (not a chip}, air filter, headers, and cam. it was all Mopar Performance parts, and had a full factory warranty, but was to be dealer installed. i bought the similar package for my V-10 (less cam which was n/a at the time)

Wink

mines more like a Road Tyrannonsaurus, since some of my part are from the 6wd T-Rex 500hp V-10 concept, except mine is fast or something.

Exclamation

Road and Track ?!

It stands for Reaction Time, just check your slip next time at the drag races, it is the first number and usually in the 1.xxx second range...

...no, actually, what you meant to say was, "If I could afford an "L" I'd buy one, but I'll stick with my Dak until then".

Now, people, put two and two together and tell me if he makes sense.

no actually, i meant what i said, i'll stick with my R/T, I had enough money for a L, i just didnt want one, i saw too many on the road, they arefor sale used at all the ford dealerships around here, and they stay unbought for months at a time, like nobody wants them, i mean i know the Ls are quick and that, but dont you think, with 360 hp you guys should be runnin a little better than 13.8, though your trucks are rated at 14.3..the R/Ts i know with 350 hp run low 13s..weird
