Thumbs up One Legend helping another

I have been taking my 69 Boss 302 around to a few places to get estimates for restoration. The combo has gotten some looks! The truck hasn't flinched with the load at all. I don't know about the color combo!

Cool

felonious,
Thanks!
01Arrestme,
Very good! Most people don't know the proper name for the color. Some think it is Grabber Orange. That is a 70 color (very different).
If you look at either color in the sun then look at the other it looks odd. I wouldn't change either !

Very very nice. When I hit the big one (Power Ball, Big game etc.) THAT will be my car of choice. As it stands now, I'll have to get by with my Lightning!

blue blood,

You wouldn't mind selling that would you, seriously!

I've been looking for a 69 or 70 in the need of restoration, but not ragged.

Fast Gator,
Ya gotta admit the Lightning is a cool tow vehicle!
Eric,
Not a chance! I bought that car in 1977! I knew what it was then. I paid $1700 for it then. At the time real nice Mach 1's were $1200. It sits the way I did it in 1978, 486 gears, bias ply 50 series tires Cragar SS (rusty now) wild cam and 850 Holley, headers, ect. I will take it back to stock. It is one of a little over 1600.

How about a straight up trade for a slightly used Audi TT? No questions asked!

Rob,
Can you think of anything better to do? The Cobra is due to be built next week. I heard that they ran out of tail lights so there is a possible delay (the Cobra has an amber turn signal lens). The boy's over at BON seen to like theirs so far. I wouldn't doubt you could humble a 99 if it was stock. Remember this is Joan's car ( I have to keep telling that to myself!) and a convertible, so it will be a cruiser.(?) You should have called me if you were going to Old Town, I would have met you there. I lost your #s so I will email you, or you could give me a call.

nice car doesn't look like much to be restored i wish my twister mustang was half that good. i have been getting my RA 428 mach out and ready to run my lightnings. it will do the 95 but my 99 and 00 have to much from the mods.
was the shaker hood optional on both years. can you get it on the tralier with the air dam on?

Thanks! It sat in a garage with a dirt floor for 13 years. I didn't use it the whole time. I did fog the engine and do some other things for long term storage. When I moved to Fl. I kept it outside with a cover on it for 1 1/2 yrs. When I uncovered it I found the interior wet and moldy. In the years in the garage mice had nested in the cowl and that trapped the moisture and the rest is the sad obvious truth. I never wanted to do a total resto on it (it still has the factory paint) but this has pushed it over the edge. I do not run it, I use a come along to get it on the trailer so I removed the spoiler.
The shaker was a 70 option. This car was a very plain Boss. Standard interior, manual steering AM radio. I don't know what wheels yet. It didn't have the wing or louvers when I got it in 77. I am getting the production history report from http://martiauto.com/ . It will give alot of info. You might want it for your cars if you don't know about it.

My cousin owned a car just like that only blue and white. I don't know what year but (possibly 71, look identical body wise to yours) when I was six he restored it and we cruised all summer. He would always take me to the DQ for ice cream. I think it was a 3 spd auto but I could be wrong. Sadly 9 yrs ago (age 29) he died in a snowmobile accident, went through the ice. This post took me back a quite a bit and I thought I had to post something to honor my cousin and good buddy Allan (All-B I called him). He was the one who made me love cars and wax. To this day I still think that water on a freshly waxed vehicle is one of the most beautiful sights.

Keep racin' All-B

Thanks for the post it was really good for a few smiles.
