Post Upping the bed capacity?

Does anyone know of a way to up the bed capacity (from 800lbs) ?

I often carry a lot of SCUBA equipment (don't cringe) and I'm guessing that I'll be able to tip 800 on morethan one occation.

Just Curious.

Cool

Change the rear springs to get the ride height up a little and change to the wheels and tires off an Expidition or a 1/2 ton PU truck with the 135mm x 5 pattern. It's a sidewall load problem and limited wheel travel problem

Hope this helps

So, what you're saying is that the rating is increased some by a taller tire sidewall. I have a set of 2000 Supercrew wheels that I use for winter. Do you have an idea how much more weight just the wheels alone would allow?

I was told all of this from the Ford engineer that did all the trailer testing. I could ask him if you need me to. He never gave me numbers. I was racing with him today. That figures.
