Did you install 3-ways?

Don't remember who it was that installed NICE tweeters/components in the upper door panels. I think they we're Polk's, too.

Anybody remember?

I also have the polk's db7's in the door's, and i couldn't agree with you anymore. I was thinking about putting the polk's in the rear and getting a set of Boston Acoustic's 5x7 component system. Powered by a ADS 4 channel.

Yes, they are the 3-way.
Maybe it's the really bad music (Slipknot,Korn etc.) I listen to.

I have the Boston Acoustic Rally 61's (6 1/2" components) and they dound great. I have the 6 1/2s set up where the stock 5x7 went and the treeters angle mounted (with only one screw so I can manipulate where they are aimed. I spent almost an hour in my truck setting them where I wanted and then tightened down the screws. Sounds great.) Oh and BTW I took out the Pioneer DEH-9200r and put the stock Ford CD back in and I think it does the job better. Sounds much nicer and doesn't distort as bad at high levels. Soundstream Rubicon 555 and 12" eclips sub coming soon so it will be loud enough then. Plus the stocker has a rotary nob instead of the crappy push button volume that took you 5 mins to turn up or down and I get much better radio reception with the stock.

I just fitted the Infinity Kappa 5.02s components, they sound great, I fitted the tweeters in the upper door panels. A difficult fit but worh it. Someone recently posted pictures of their install of the tweeters. Can't remember who but he was replying to a question from me about a week ago. Gotta get new rear speakers now.

Yep, I can say this is the best mod I've done to my stereo system yet. Components are the only way to get the sound away from your ankles.

I recently put two pairs of JL TR570-CX in my truck, and am very pleased with them running off my Alpine head unit. I wanted something better than the stock speakers to run till summer.

I was planning on putting in my 6 channel ADS amp and my Focal poly kevlar speakers in this summer when I have more time. But after living with the inexpensive JL Audio speakers, I might just get a small 2 channel amp and a small sub.

Thes JL speakers are a great inexpensive way to go The whole install took 2-3 hours, and sounds pritty dam good.

Polk Db7's In Front-Odd Question

As many of you have done, I have upgraded my front speakers.
Yes they sound better, but now that I am concentrating more on the sound, I feel that the actual sound is too low (physically aimed more at chest level).
Does anyone else feel this ?
Would the component speaker set up be a better choice ?

I do not have a new amp or sub's yet.
