Haven't heard about this problem yet, any ideas???
 

I was at the store tonight and when I got to the truck and tried to start it, it wouldn't fire. https://www.f150online.com/f150board/eek.gif I took the key out and tried it again hoping I was dreaming, did the same thing. https://www.f150online.com/f150board/confused.gif I took my spare unchipped key that I use when I lock my keys in and tried it, no go. I tried my regular key hoping the spare might have reset something and nothing. I then got the idea to pull the chip out of the computer. When I did it fired right up. https://www.f150online.com/f150board/smile.gif I got the truck home, pulled the computer out and re-installed the chip with liberal amounts of tape to hold it in and put it all back together and it fired right up. https://www.f150online.com/f150board/biggrin.gif The only thing I can think of is that the chip might have rattled loose over the past few thousand miles. But then again, if it had loosen up, the truck still should have fired or at least recognize my key. ANY input on this would be appreciated. Superchips and Powered by Ford will be getting some phone calls tomorrow. https://www.f150online.com/f150board/wink.gif

Loose chip will do it everytime. Put it in and tape it with some serious tape.

Try pulling out the computer and re scotch brighting the connectors. Sounds like a bad chip connection.

My Autocross car

In my chipped 99, I was on the road, went over a bump and the engine died. Reseated the chip, and everything was fine.

i have several chips, i don't use any of them while my truck is under full factory warranty, but the "Superchip" brand needs a brace or gasket to hold it flush. otherwise the top can be pulled too far in against the box, causing the bottom (where it's connected to blades) to be pulled away from the connection. usually one or two pieces of cardboard or a strip of velcro on the box itself will keep the chip at a perfect 90, and will not allow the top to pull the bottom out when you duct tape it
