Somebody should a told'em, there's more to an L than the engine. Who's going to professionally install the trani when it scatters across the higway i wonder? Do Harley trucks corner well at high speeds??? i don't know. Brakes, rear, all th extra cooling, gooood luck. Some things just weren't meant to be, hehe

Not so fast Reddawgy, I know JDM recently swapped an L motor, trans, and drive shaft into a Harley truck. The Harley's old drive shaft is still at his shop. Sounds like it would be a pretty cool truck. It would'nt handle as well or be as fast because its heavier, but that extra back seat would come in handy for us family guys.

Thumbs up

I think that would be cool. I would have bought one if they came with the lightning package. I also love those chrome 20's, I think they would look sweet on my L but they list for over a grand, wholesale is 700 and change, and the dealers cost is like 633. and that is a piece. So if you get them at wholesale which my dealer offered me and then buy the tires your looking at about $4500.00 for the set... It would look good but a little to pricey for me.....Bill

At the local dealer this morning snooping around. They had a 2001 Harley SuperCrew, $36036. Only significant option was power moon roof, 20" wheels look nice, but way to narrow. Bed was so short did not appear anything but a Sportster could ride back there to Pickup and Trailer week in Daytona.

I would love a supercab version of the L. Sure, it would'nt be as fast or handle as good as the current L, but it would be a great alternative.

How about a Supercrew L? I'm new to the board but this will be my next project. I posted a request for a used L drivetrain but got no responses. If anyone know of one please let me know. I had a Gen 1 L with lots of mods, but had to sell it because of the family and business. I know a Supercrew L will not be as fast or handle as well, but us with 2 kids and all their stuff need more room.

PS I have done lots of testing with the Gen 1 L with brakes and suspension mods so I know some of the aftermarket manf. If I can be of help or you need impartial advise e-mail me at seaclear@earthlink.net. Thanks, Bill
