Cool Redesigning for 2003 ?

Hello all! I've been a long time "lurquer" and L fan. I had a 2000 L in white on deposit/hold from Tulsa Auto Collection but let it go a week before it arrived here back in March of 2000. The whole inter-cooler and front-end clunk thing scared me away. I see my "baby" all the time on the way home....it's sort of like seeing an old-gf with someone else.
I'm in a '00 Lariat (5.4 liter, auto) now and like it but it's no "L".
I've heard big-changes are in store for the entire F-150 line and was wondering if anyone has heard how this might affect the L (in terms of performance, styling, etc.) since the L should be produced through '05 or '06.

Thanks.

Well, FordTec.... I understand that "she" had a Level-10 shift-kit in there now and "John" is VERY pleased with the results.

Note: The names mentioned above have been changed to protect the innocent... or something ....

Cool

So, the intercooler fix will be here next month, and its on Ford's nickel, but the 2001s shouldn't have that problem, anyway. Get one now and trade it in on an '03.

Alpha, when I was on the lot getting the '00 Lariat I'm in now, they had a '00 L (black)on the ramp in front but I almost threw down for it. It was "do-able" financially, but, white is my first choice for the L!
However, I took a bath on my first '00 F-150, it was stolen and found almost a month later in North Tulsa... beat all to hell! (but "fixable" according to the insurance co.) THANKS !!!
Now, I'm on my second '00 F-150... with a Clifford alarm system installed (IG-900 with backup battery/horn system)...

Question

MY2003, how did you F150 get stolen?

By the way, because the 1999s and 2000s had no performance changes, I am assuming the same pattern for the 2001-2002 line-up. This is considering, that to date, the Lightning really has no competition in its product niche.

Then, perhaps for 2003, there will be some more performance changes. It seems logical to me and some others on this board that Ford will install the 32 valve Lincoln Navigator 5.4L engine with a supercharger. The normally aspirated Lincoln engine is 300 HP. With a SC it should make about 400 HP.

A similiar 32 valve 5.4L engine is in the Cobra R and it makes 385 HP normally aspirated. I doubt Ford would put that engine, especially with a SC, in the Lightning. Probably too expensive and too much load on the 5.4 engine to be pumping out around 500 HP.

All,

Just wondering what anyone else might have heard are in the works for '03. As a note, I'm trying to pay off school (a year of law-school is expensive) and in the '00 5.4L Lariat for now (hey, Lariat starts with an "L"). This give me time to pay down on school and save for the '03 down the road.

Oh, btw hey Wyldman, ALightning (Albert),and Alan Chavis we've all emailed and I've met Albert and Alan at Thunder Valley in Okla.

Thanks for any info, suggestions ....

All, I meant to post earlier (I check this board out religiously at work...but don't post until I get home). I work in the telecomm industry (Analyst/Admin. work) and chase women through AOL/YAHOO by night (hey, this ***** works !!!) I just got back from TGIFs with a 22yr old hottie I met on AOL last night not 20 minutes ago ... oops, she drives a '00 "*****-red" T/A, 5.7L, auto ..sorry...but, she's blonde and almost 6'0.
anyway....
Redlite, I don't know... it was gone one morning last August here in Tulsa. I walked to work one Monday morning and it was gone. For almost a month, I couldn't eat, sleep or anything. Bottom line, I don't wish that on my worst enemy! We can talk more on this topic and the insurance implications off-line... just give me your email ...
Harley, I had it installed for $817 (out the door - buddy discount ...i'll see what I can do that for you if you are interested ...) through Car-Toys here in Tulsa. That is the Clifford Intelli-Guard 9000 with the battery & horn back-up system. I LOVE IT ! Even the pressure from the car-wash nozzle and a loud exhaust nearby will set it off ! I guess "security" comes at a price !
Oh, Harley, btw, if you were at the TAC-MidTown Location and were near the svc dept. and saw Daymond's '00 White L... yes, that's my "old" gf !!!
