Question Got squeal?

I have had a squeal on the right rear brake from day one. I have tried two diffrent types of stop squeal products and still have noise.Has anybody replaced their pads beacuse of squeal? If so did you use high performance pads from Ford or an aftermarket pad?I want to try to replace both rear pads on both wheels at the same time so they wear even.
Thanks
Rob

That squealing is most likely glazing. I am on my second set of brakes on the L. I replaced the first set at about 22k miles.

As I understand it, glazing occurs when your pads get heated up a lot and a "glaze" forms over the pads and rotors. This glaze causes the squealing sound, which is much different from when your brakes need replacing. The replace squeal is constant at all pressures, while the glaze squealing usually doesn't persist under full brake pressure.

Apparently, you can remove the pads and rotors, dremel or sand off the glaze, and it will not squeal until they glaze again. You can also have a shop do it, but it cost me $100 to get it done the first time and lasted 2k miles or less.

I drive fast as far as I can see, and slow down at each hill crest both to avoid tickets and hidden radar, and also to avoid the potential accident due to high speed and short sight distance. A direct result of that type of driving, is some pretty hard braking on a pretty regular frequency. I have just accepted the noise and I don't care what anyone else thinks. Unless they are fast enough to keep up, they don't have to complain for long.
