F'n ashtray broke!!!

I opened my ash tray to clean out any change that was in there and as i pushed it in and it popped out.....i heard a "boing" and something fall in the dash. I then realized the thing is broke. I think i've actually opened it a dozen times since i had the truck.

Luckily i was able to stick my fingers down under the ash tray and i found the piece. How the hel do i fix it?

The same thing was broke on my father's 00 when he bought it.

It wont open by itself now??

Spring on the back fell off, seems like they always do. Just get a short shelf tapping screw and screw it back on right through the hole in the middle of the spring.
