Smile Snow Chains For an '01 L ?

Does anyone know if I can buy snow chains for the 18" tires on an '01 L ?
We have been gettin hammered hard in central Nevada at 6000'. I hope when my truck comes in that I can get it back home. I'm (use your best Chris Rock) Sick and Tired, Tired, Tired, of shoveling this white crap.
Ahhhhh.......... Nothin like a good Cardiovascular workout.
Gotta love the clean air and no emissions testing though.

Cool

Maybe buy some winter tires with studs. They do make a cable setup but it ain`t as good as chains. If you need chains I would say stay home or drive a beater. When they break they tend to fling about and beat the **** outta stuff.

Even if you could find the right size _ Which is unlikely - I would NOT put chains on the 18" ( $250 ) Aluiminum rims. I ran chains on my 92 Extra Cab with steel rims and both the tire and the rim will take a beating if the chains are not fitted perfectly or if you exceed about 15 mph or if you ride for long on roads not covered in snow...

Let us know what you find

Doug

I'll admit it, I once got caught with my pants down so to speak. We went to go see a movie, and when we came out there was a good 4-6 inches of snow, with more falling fast. Good thing there was a Walmart next door. Walked over and got the closest size cables I could find. In order to get the truck going from a stop I had to get out and push, on a flat surface (w/out the cables). Made it home with the cables though, no prob. About 20 miles, and an hour later. Only put them on the back 2.

Say, I just remembered, I have a set of 4 studded tires AND rims, mounted and balanced and ready to go, in Las Vegas. Used one season (3200 miles), they work great. Email me if you need a set, as getting a one way ticket and buying a beater for the trip up isn't gonna be fun. tundra_svt@yahoo.com or tundra@lightningguy.com
