Talking More Rice than Uncle Ben's

Driving home Sunday from the barber shop on the interstate, when I see two white cars with ground effects, extra lights, blacked out windows, etc. etc, pull onto the road behind me. I slow down going to the on-ramp to let them catch up so I can see what I've got to play with.

The first car is a Integra Type R (at least it was badged as such). I don't know much about them to tell if it was real or otherwise, but it had big tailpipes, a ground effect package, 18+" wheels (chromed), tinted windows, extra "blue tint" foglights, slammed to the ground, etc.

The second car was some sort of dual exhaust import with no badges whatsoever. I didn't recognize it, but it had a big wing, agressive ground effects, huge tailpipes, tinted windows, huge wheels (probably 20s) also in chrome.

I'm thinking great, a little snack. I lag back on the ramp a bit, to get some room in front and then hit it a bit. Then don't make any effort to catch up, so I figure I'll bait them some more on the interstate.

Get on the interstate, and am driving slow for them to catch up. Up ahead, in the slow lane I see four more similarly modded/ clad all white imports. Various shapes, sizes, tailpipes, chrome wheels, etc.

Now I'm starting to think I have a chance to eat a six course Japanese buffet. They all line up behind each other in convoy, so I pull up next to the front one. I drop it out of overdrive and hit it a couple times with no effect. I drop back a car, try again, nothing. I do this until I get to the end, and still no response from all 6. I'm kinda irritated, so I just get on it and blow by all six in a hurry. Slow up and still no dice. Finally, they all take the next right off-ramp.

My truck was not too happy to say the least. I had to drive it around a couple extra miles on the way home to get it to stop drooling.

Could have been a great opportunity, but no luck for me.

You have to have a minivan or something before they show their stuff, otherwise they might look too slow for their ground effects and wings.

It also helps to have a lot of traffic then they can cut people off like crazy and make it look like they are driving fast.

I played tag with what seemed like a real Type R on the road the other night... he didn't have any big ground effects nor tinting, so it was a mostly stock one I guess, but it was pretty zippy, we took it up to 120 for fun... was a nice little race.

Lucky99, the integra type R, did you happen to count the lugs? Real type Rs have five instead of four for the regualar integra, my buddy has one. He got it to trap at 98 with cold air induction and a header for mods.

Every time we go out racing, everybody we line up with has to ask if his car is a real type R. He thinks its annoying. I am jealous. I want people to ask me if my truck is a real Lightning.

Tundra,

I couldn't really get a look at the lugs, and I doubt the wheels were stock. All these cars had huge wheels, super low profile tires (you know, the kind that your L could go through in about 30 seconds), and we were moving at highway speeds when I was next to them (well, they were at highway speeds, I was at high speeds)
