Question

Is that the P/N for a '99 or '00?

Cool

clonetek,

I bought the same locks this morning at my dealer. While I was getting my clunk fixed and alignment done they ordered them from the warehouse. Before they were through with my truck the parts guy walked in with my locks. I call that service.

i have to say I'm a little surprised these trucks don't come with wheel locks from the factory. Even my lowly '85 Mustang GT (and the 94 and 97 GT's) had McGard wheel locks included from the factory.

When I asked my salesman if the truck came with them, he said he'd be surprised if they weren't standard. Well, why does it not surprise me that once again I know more than he?!?!

Thanks for sharing Clonetek.

James

I have had my wheellocks from Gorilla for about a month, got a set of 20 so I do not have a orphan lug on my wheels.Plus did not have to wait a year to get them.

put the locks on a little while ago..
also went ahead & turned all the "SVT" center caps the same direction. that was bugging me.

sorry for the crappy quality pics.. i cant seem to keep enough money back for a new camera.

Since the part wasnt available till almost 12 months after the first 2000's shipped it would have been tough to include them with the truck.

LD - oh, your valve stem caps? i was talking about the center caps on the rim itself.
i'm gonna get some low profile valve stems when i get new tires. i'll prolly get some lightning caps for them then.

The question to me is: Why wasn't the part available when the truck was produced? Ford started making the Gen2 in 1999. Why wasn't it available for the 2000's? Even if they changed the stud. The lead time on manufacturing is fairly long from what I've read. I Would think Ford has enough clout and does enough business with McGard that the lug locks could've been available. It seems to me they just didn't care enough about it or it wasn't high enough priority.

OneRedTXBolt - it might have been mcgard's fault.. who knows. all that matters is that they are readily available now.
