Rear Sliding Window Latch??

Ok, I called the local parts store to see if they carried the latch for the rear sliding glass window on my truck (2001 Lightning). They told me they didn't show it in there system. So I called the dealer here and they told me I had to buy the whole back glass just to get the latch. In other words they didn't show the latch as a separate piece. Surely, someone on here knows where I can buy just the latch. I'm not spending $250 for a plastic latch plus whatever installation would be on the back window. If someone knows where I can buy just the latch or if I can even buy just the latch please let me know. Thanks!

Rear Window

I'm sorta in the same situation.

All of the rubber seals around my slider have fallen off and I got the same answer from my dealer.

They told me the rear window is sold as one piece and there are no replacement parts for the slider or the window seals.

I'm trying to get an auto glass place to find some way to glue those suckers back on.

Regarding your window latch, I would see if you can buy that center piece of glass with the latch attached.

i got the latch at the dealer but can not figure out what to use to adhere it to the glass. I have used a few things and it comes off over time. Any ideas of what would work and not come off??

My rear slider latch broke off the other day too. I just ordered a new latch at the dealer and will have it tomorrow. It was only $9 and change. Im guessing it wont come with adhesive or anything. I wont know what to use.

use rearview mirror adhesive, available at any autoparts store.

Ahh good idea.

Thanks!

I'm in the same boat. Thanks for the part number and the adhesive idea.

One other question is how to get the old base off the glass? Heat gun? Chemical?

It would really suck to break that window trying to change a 9 dollar part.

Thoughts?

Heat gun or hair dryer and two keyrings with fishing line tied inbetween them, just heat up the area good and start sawing away with the fishing line.
