Need some help removing the head light switch
I am trying to remove my headlight switch from my dash. I am afraid of scratching or breaking something. Anyone have suggestions on an easy way to get the switch out? It is about 28 degrees outside so that might ad to the breakage factor.
Thanks for any help

I looked at Silver_2000_ web site and don't know what is meant by "I simply used a small screwdriver to coax these clips into releasing the console from the dash" What does coax mean? I stuck a screw drive in and tried to release the clips but am not sure what to do? Do I push up on the clips, or down?
Thanks

All the clips push towards the switch to release them. However, something flat, approx. 1/2" wide and long pushed in by all three clips is the best way. Something like feeler gauges would be best.
I also removed some screws around the dash plate so that I could reach in behind and push the switch out. It can be a real b!tch!
Be patient and do it right. It will come out.

Turn the headlights on with the fog lights pulled out, Now take a small screw driver and under the **** there is a hole, take the **** off. Replace the **** upside down and turn the lights off, and SLOWLY & CAREFULY pull the assymbly out of the hole. There you go its out to put back in just put it in turn lights on with fogs, take **** off, replace correct way and your set.
P.S. This worked on my 99, Im not sure for the 00, tho.

Burnouts discription is explained in detail, with pictures, in the Haynes Manual for your truck. This manual has come in very handy on many occasions and can be bought at most automotive stores.

Does anyone know if there is a trick way of getting the switch out for the 00's like Burninout101 said for the 99's or if his way will work on the 2000's?
Thanks again.
