Its been a while since I saw a post with this subject. They are pre-chromed from the factory, but made of ceramic. I use a stove top heavy duty cleaner to clean my tips, and they stay much cooler since they are straight pipes, and not attached to the mufflers which abosrb more energy. See what I mean?

Sad part about our ceramic tips is they look like crap most of the time even though I take alot of time cleaning them. I have used all the recommended cleaning agents that have been posted on the board. They always seem dull.

I would love to replace them with some sort of stainless tips. Anybody done this with stock exhaust?

Tundra, They're not chromed, they're ceramic coated. Lloyd

Try useing Mothers Mag Polish. Shines them up real good. Clean them first with a ceramic cleaner. The cleaner doesn't shine them very well, just removes the crud so the polish can work. I would be interested in getting my tips polished, might have to check around and see if you can chrome over ceramic.

No matter what you use to clean the stock ceramic tips with they will never look as good as polished stainless steel.

Chrome would be nice but I have seen where the exhaust, water, gas, anti-freeze or whatever else come out has eaten through them.

So.... has anybody put on aftermarket "Stainless Steel Tips" on the stock exhaust?
