With that said I won't be putting the F1's back on my truck anytime soon, I think the benefits of longer tread life and better wet traction of the 555 at somewhat equal costs out weigh the trival difference between dry traction on brand new tires.
The 555R is a great tire for dry traction, I really enjoy driving my truck with these on the rear. But they don't last long at all and once they start getting low on tread they are flat out dangerous in wet road conditions. More than one person has totalled their lightning with these on the rear because of wet conditions.
