Just spec'd a 2001!
 

Went to www.fordfleet.com and you can price and build a 2001 Lightning there. It shows invoice at@$28,089 and MSRP$31,995. It lists almost all specifications. Lists the 3.73ls, mirrors with turn signal indicators(lariet style?), the clear head/taillights and corners, the exhaust having dual side REAR exit(?), autolamp(already have?),driver's side KEYPAD ENTRY(expedition type?), cassette with 6 disc cd(where would that go?),and an L.E.D third brake light(?). Also shows the 380hp and 450ftlbs. I put in for a bid from a local dealer. I hope one responds with a good price!Any thoughts on the changes?

They were the same colors as 2000.

The CD changer is in the dash (Expy has the same unit) Sounds like some of the current mods were incorporated (keypad, signal mirrors etc)Now the only choice is WHAT COLOR!!

Interesting. I just went up there and the only option I could find was for 2000 L's. How did you navigate to the 2001's?

To see the 2001 Lightning's, I did the following:

1) Click on Build My Ford
2) Enter Zip Code
3) Click on F-150 Series under the Pickups section
4) Under the 2 Wheel Drive Regular Cab section, click on Reg Cab Flareside 120 Lightning

That did it for me. Maybe your zip didn't have a close dealer?

I'd love to hear a dealer from my area say "Yes we have a 2001 red lightning with soft tonneau cover for $28,345.00" Yeah Right.

Has anyone got a call yet? I will give some time , but I don't think so not for invoice.

Under "Standard Equipment", then under "Exterior", there's "Dual rear access doors"! What are those???? Can't for the life of me figure it out?

The rear access doors are a reference to the Extra cabs. This brings all the other info into question since we can be pretty sure they are not making an extra cab

I just called my local ford dealer and talked to the parts manager. He just looked up the part numbers for the headlights and tailights for the 2001 and he said that the part numbers for them are the same as 2000 WTF im lost I want to up date my 2000

Pay attention! You guys are not looking in the right place. KnightS is correct. If you get to the right place there is no mention of rear doors. Also, the only option is the soft tonneau cover.

I already have a dealer response and we are working on a deal!

Found the site. Ordered a black one. My '99 is worth more than a 2001. It will be interesting to see what offer I get!

You have to indicate 2001 on the pull down menu at the top, it defaults to 2000 when the page opens

My point was if you select the 2000 Lightning from this url http://www.webcarbook.com/new/carinf...rID=2000180339
It lists Dual rear access doors. Which may be a simple error that was copied over from thr Extra cab or may indicate the quality of the information available.
