HELP! Need a long block

Scored rod bushings And of course, the crank journals are scored too.

Thought I had a long block from Kar Kraft but they sold the last one Friday.

Anyone know of a source for one? I've PM'd JL, Sal, and JDM but havn't heard back from them.

How about VT or Dante?

I'm pretty sure Sal doesn't keep engines in stock. Call JDM, I bet they will have one for you.

The best way to get ahold of Jim at JDM is to give them a call. Jim should be back from the FFW event in Norwalk by now. I would talk to JIM Jr as big Jim is prob busy.

I'm very happy with my JDM engine! INcredibly smooth. No noises, no oil burning, smooth strong powr band. The biggest diff I noticed, on my stock block when you went WOT it felt like it was being punished. My built engine seems to really come alive and just smooth out more and more, the harder you mash the pedal! Whip me, beat me, hurt me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dan,

Is that a result of your oil pressure problem that you posted about a few months ago?

LIGHTNINROD 07-11-2006 08:21 AM

Thanks everyone. I'll followup with JDM.

LTNBOLT: Yes, that's the end result of that oil pressure problem. I thought I'd fixed it with a new oil pressure sender but it turned out to be either 'bad' oil(or my not changing it soon enough?) or a bad oil pump? It started making lower end noises and I stopped driving it for the last 7 months. I didn't do anything to try and fix it because of the $$$ I knew it was going to cost and it just depressed me so much.

Yup he got back yesterday afternoon......Give us a call. :beers:

Thanks for the replies. Andrew, I don't want and can't afford a 'built' long block like you have on your site. I'm sure it's a fine piece but I can't get it. I'm just going 'stock' with my add-ons.

Kar Kraft Engineering just got a low mileage, 'take-out', 2002 L engine in and I'm buying it.

'New' take-out 2002 L engine

So far, so good:bandito: You can't tell from the pic but I looked closely at the damper and at the rear of the engine(the lower portion wasn't shrink-wrapped) and it looks NEW; not washed or just clean but new:eek:

I gave the mechanic 8 Denso Iridium plugs to put in it. May(?) be finished late next week after he finishes two other vehicles. The work is being done at Riverside Ford in Macon, GA, a SVT dealer.

Fingers crossed!

Call Livernois in my opinion! :)

HOLD UP!!!

If that is truely a new engine.. buy a set of mod max rods and put them in.

Between the rods and extra labor you'd be looking at another $800ish but the motor would be able to handle significant;y more than stock.
