If I remember I just cut the plastic square so the belt was able to bend, then I just put it under the seat and bolted through the seat bracket.

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking, but you must either use an existing hole intended for seat belt mounting or specially prepare a new hole with welded-in reinforcements. Just finding or drilling a hole is dangerous. The g forces in an accident are astronomical.

Sorry for the delay...I'm traveling on business this week...

The Expy seat I bought came complete with the floor brackets & the belt. The inner rail on the seat has the seat belt mounting hole, I used that rail on the inner (left side) so I could use the Expy belt. It looks identical to the drivers seat belt setup on our trucks just on the opposite side. I would not randomly drill a hole, look and see if the rails that came with your expy seat have the mounting plate...it's a reinforced steel bracket on the left rail with a single hole for the belt. There are also two ridges to hold the belt upright on either side of the hole...they are visible in the picture attached below.

Is that what you will use on the passenger side?
Does the lightning seat cover fit over it ?
Do you need any special brackets?
ANy other tips on the passenger seat / mod would be appreciated.
Thank you

Yes, I bought the complete seat from a 99 Expy then disassembled the seat beacuse the only parts you need are the seat pan, left rail, & floor bracket.
I used the original outer (right) rail & seat bracket from the Lightning.

You'll have to take both seat lower halves to an upholstery shop and they can cut down the bench foam fit it to the bucket seat pan and sew the cover to fit properly.

Chad> If all goes well the new supercharger goes on tomorrow afternooon
I'm still waiting on you know who (LFP) to call and tell me the headers are in so I can get those on...A Couple of Weeks... Yeah Right

I'm at work in princeton now. about 40-50 miles from Newark. That traffic sucks, I dont miss that Manhattan Traffic. Its the worst!!!!!!!!

My seat bracket may have that hole, but the uposlery shop covered that portion of the bracket with material. I didnt want to cut it, then find no hole. I just bolted it to the floor under the bracket. Cant really tell its any different, cause the console is blocking any view.

I want to do this mod sooo bad. How much did the upholstery shop charge you? I'm trying to get an idea of how much I'm looking at for the mod.

Cost........... a bunch!!!!!!!!!

Carpet 238.15 from auto custom carpet inc. )Here is their site...http://www.accmats.com/) Got it with the sound coating.

Console 129.00 from e-bay. I was lucky and got a good deal. It was complete down to the mounting brackets, bolts, liners, and it was grey. I cleaned, painted, and recovered the lid.

Seat Mod 300.00 from local shop

Seat parts for seat mod - 237.00 new from ford

Total 904.15. OUCH!!!

But its worth it 100%. Look factory and i'm happy with it.

Did mine back in may before i drove cross country.

Console (minus top panel) seat bracket, console brackets/bolts - $45
Recover compartmend lid - $30
New top piece, rubber mat, compartment mat,Seat lever - $300
Seat Pan - $40
Seat mod - $150

Rough estimate cost me 600 to do. I didnt have to paint it, just gut it and scrub it.

So any where from 750 to 1000, I want to do the black carpet while I'm at it. Hopefully I can get that done this year. I've got some motor & suspension mods to do first.

I used this and some searchs that i saved from here, svtp, and nloc.

Its really easy to do. I did it myself in 3 1/2 hrs. The hardest part was finding the holes in the floor thru the carpet and cuting the holes in the carpet. You will also need to tap some exsiting holes in the floor for the passanger seat bolts and the console bracket bolts.

The write up above is really good. It used to have pics, but they are gone now. If you need any help, Just ask. I have some pics, but can walk you thru most of it.
